We have just added a new series of web design tutorials to our website here at Studio 1 Web Design. For many years we have been accumulating a (thick) file of web design work flows. A “work flow” is simply a series of steps to accomplish a particular task. They deal with the day to day work of making websites.
We have been writing them down on legal pad paper and stuffing them into this manila folder and storing them in a file drawer for quite some time, now. We have found that we are constantly referring to them like a recipe book so we thought that it was about time to share them.
It has been our plan to select the best ones and make them into web design tutorials. We have been waiting for the opportunity to publish these tutorials, but the opportunity never arose until recently. Now we are working in earnest to publish them and make them available to the public.
Using these procedures can make a web designer’s job go a lot faster and easier. They are usually the mundane, ordinary tasks that a web designer will encounter on a day to day basis, but we have found that it’s the day to day things that can really add up to a lot of time. Knowing the fastest ways to get things done can save a lot of time.
The new web design tutorials are linked from the “Resources” page here at the website. Please visit the Resources page and scroll down to the “Web Design Tutorials” section. The first two articles deal with web authoring software and making web forms. We felt that this was a good starting point because web authoring software is one of the core applications used by web designers and making web forms can be tricky for the newcomer.
The file is pretty thick and we keep adding to it all the time, so we will try to get as many of them published as we can manage.
