Easy Transfer: Step
By Step Instructions To Transfer Your Domain
Step One:
SIGN
UP NOW using our online order form. We will provide you with
an IP address so you can start uploading your website immediately.
We will send you a "Welcome" email message. Wait for this
email and when you get it, print it out and save it. It contains
important information you need for the next step.
Step Two:
When you get your "Welcome" email, it
will contain the NameServer information for your website. The information
will look like the sample below:
Sample NameServers:
| PRIMARY DNS: |
NS3.MPCINTERNETWORKS.COM |
216.147.43.82 |
| SECONDARY DNS: |
NS4.MPCINTERNETWORKS.COM |
216.147.1.90 |
If you don't know how to change your NameServers
(or don't even know what NameServer is) click
here for our help page.
If you know how to change your NameServers yourself
then contact your domain name registrar (Network Solutions, Register.com,
etc.) and request to change your DNS information. You may
be able to edit your own record at the registrar's website. You
can call Network Solutions on their toll-free
number and have a technician help you with the transfer. They
are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Note: Depending
on your registrar, be sure to complete the change process by responding
to the change request emails from your registrar.
That's it! As soon as your registrar completes
the transfer, usually 1 to 7 days, you may close your former web
hosting account.
If you need assistance, then call us at 1-818-985-4901
and a Studio 1 Design and Hosting representative will assist you.
Please note: To insure no downtime to your website,
Do Not cancel your current web hosting
account until 7 days after your registrar has pointed your domain
towards our servers. Also, for uninterrupted email, please setup
the same POP3 accounts that you have with your current provider
to ensure that your email service continues uninterrupted.
Step Three:
When you sign up for a new account at Studio 1 Design and Hosting, you will get one free domain name registration included
in the price of the account. If you simply change your domain name
record to point to your new account, you will not yet have changed
registrars. You must do this third step if you want to take advantage
of this offer, otherwise your domain name record will still be maintained
by the existing registrar and you will continue to be billed by
them to keep your domain name from expiring.
